May 06, 2019

Have you ever imagined wearing the mysteries of the universe and the secrets of the galaxy in the form of gorgeous little trinkets for your hands and ears? Wallace Chan, a highly acclaimed jewelry designer launched a spellbinding new collection that explores the wonders of the universe with innovate art and jewelry making techniques.

The latest exhibition by this genius jewelry designer is titled, Shapeshifter: The Multiverse of Wallace Chan, and it was held in Hong Kong. The showcase consisted of 80 unique art pieces, which include artistic jewelry designs, contemporary art sculptures, and pieces designed through the innovative techniques that Wallace has introduced during the last 45 years of his career.

Wallace Chan was the first Asian jewelry designer and contemporary artist to have the privilege of showcasing a solo exhibition at the prestigious Biennale des Antiquaries Paris, Gemstone Museum in Germany, TEFAF Maastricht, and the Capital Museum in Beijing.

The collection was a stunning showcase of surreal artistic pieces and jewelry designs that symbolized the intricacy of arm. It appeared that Wallace Chan had used the human body, as well as the universe, as a source of inspiration for his surreal and spellbinding ornaments. Chan has always been obsessed in the mysteries and wonders that remain undiscovered, and after conducting rigorous research and multiple experiments, he creates his pieces by doing all the artisanal crafting with his own hands. This is primarily why it takes Chan several years to finish one piece.

Wallace Chan earned international applause for his insanely popular carving technique, the Wallace cut, which allows the benefit of the internal properties within the gemstone in creating ornaments and designs with a three-dimensional effect. The Wallace Cut is a striking innovation, and it was joined by other innovations and techniques that Wallace had introduced to the art and jewelry industry over the last 45 years.

For instance, the showcase also included the Titanium Mastery, the Gemstone-Setting-Gemstone Technique, the Patented Jade Technology, Secret Abyss, and the Wallace Chan Porcelain. With this showcase, Wallace Chan reminds us all that the human memory is the most powerful tool that allows us to reconstruct our past, reinvigorate our present, and redesign our future. This enthralling display takes the viewers through a fascinating journey inspired by the mysteries of the universe, the glories of nature and life, and the intricate jewelry designing techniques that Wallace has introduced over the past 45 years.
